HUNGER
what am i supposed to write about hunger? it is not something that i have experienced in my whole life, being born in a privileged environment and it was not my character to write of something i had utterly no knowledge of. as a result, many trees were killed as countless pieces of uncompleted scripts were crushed and dumped. every single word i wrote sounded fake and somehow could not come together. i tried everything; from writing a story about people going hungry to writing an essay that kept on ranting about the biological process that causes hunger but i got bored to sleep, just reading them myself. so eventually i gave up and stared at my blank piece of paper, prepared to receive zero for that assignment. then again, one mark is better than none so i have it one last shot and well, this is it. to this point, at least that's all that i've got.

Now, im just going to hand it in and... wait a second, i just had an idea. oh man, what a cheap shot but her goes nothing. [OMG SHE ACTUALLY WROTE "OH MAN" TO EDNA'S COMPO, SHE DESERVES AN AWARD. 8D HAHAHA OH XUANNIE!]

once upon a time, in a far, far, far, far, far away land, there was a person who could not write composition for nuts [OMG. NUTS. 8D]... sorry, wrong story. let me try again. not so long ago in Methodist Girls school, there was a student who was nowhere as elite as the school itself was. what made it worse was that the student was incredibly playful and refused to sit down and study for more than a minute, thus the result was that she failed every exam and test that existed in the whole world that she took. the student belonged to a well to do family and thus never had to go hungry physically, that is. but after years of failing miserably for every subject she took, she developed a hunger to do well and get good grades. unfortunately, as the girl never learnt how to remedy hunger because she never had a need to learn, the hunger was never satisfied and the student continued doing badly in her studies. however, due to dumb luck and the mercy of her teachers, she always advanced to the next level after each year of schooling. the student took promotion for granted and did not work to eliminate the hunger.

one fine day however, after the student had yet again failed all her subjects, the principal decided that enough was enough and this student must learn. so this student was retained in secondary three in hope that she would work hard and satisfy her hunger of passing for once and getting good grades.

in a way, the harsh method worked because from then on, no only did the student learn not to take promotion for granted again, she did also began to work towards satisfying the hunger of doing well and getting promoted to secondary four, not advanced. whether the student will succeed or not though, that another story for another day and besides, it is too early to tell. after all, it is only January and i am secondary three, aren’t I?

i know that this is not the best of all stories, but it is the only one i have that is even mildly related to hunger. alright, i need to go and prepare myself for the zero i am going to get for this piece of work. farewell._


YAY FOR XUANNIE!! hahah. dont you just love her style of writing? even though its quite casual for a compo:/ but edna loves xuan anyway (YES MARIA DONT BE JEALUSS), and xuan got pretty high. haha. i dont think i'll put edna's comments here... (OKAY FINE. I CANT READ WHAT EDNAT WROTE, ITS ALL RED AND WRIGGLY) but there was a lot of ticks and one exclamation mark so i guess its good ^^
